The newsrooms that took part in the 2016 Table Stakes programme provided the foundation for the project, which builds on their successes and lessons learned.
Participating organisations in 2017 will be responsible for the following:
Discover a road plan for converting your company into one that is customer-centric, digitally-first, market-leading, and sustainable.
Clearly define and actively pursue particular digital performance projects that will significantly enhance the organization's digital transformation.
Determine and address the fundamental skill, role, workflow, and technological changes as well as cultural shifts that need to take place in order to accomplish the goals of the performance initiatives that have been undertaken.
Build up your individual capabilities as well as your organisational capacities so that you can continue the work when the project is finished.
Establish a system whereby news organisations can collaborate on the sharing of various tools, technologies, and other resources.
Poynter President Tim Franklin stated that "this project places Poynter at the core of teaching one of the most significant topics facing journalism today."
We consider it a pleasure to collaborate with the Knight Foundation and the other project partners in order to articulate, promote, and amplify the best practises in media innovation and change.
The Poynter programme is available to any newspaper organisation in the United States, regardless of its size, location, or kind of ownership structure.
