Windows 10 has come to a considerable distance since its introduction in the year 2015. Microsoft has made every effort to ensure that they make Windows 10 the best operating system. However, there are a few glitches, and issues continue to occur. Most of the errors that have been reported in the Windows 10 technical preview launch were addressed through different Windows updates released by Microsoft at times. However, the issue of “Windows 10, start menu not functioning "was disclosed to Microsoft in the early stage of the development process, and updates were launched to correct the issue, but the issue persists.

1. Display an unhidden Windows 10 Task Bar

  2. Select File> Run a new task
  3. Enter CMD and put the checkmark on top of this task. It will be granted administrative privileges and click OK.
  4. Type sfc /scannow, then hit enter. The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache. Reset Your Pc

  6. After the scan has been completed and you are able to see the message indicating whether the system files have been repaired or not. Restart your system and see whether the issue has been fixed.

  1. Hold Ctrl and Shift while pressing Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. In the menu File, choose the Run New Task option.
  3. Enter PowerShell and then place the checkmark on top of this task, with administrator privileges. Click OK.
  4. Copy-paste the command in red, in the Power shell window, and then hit Enter.
  5. Important: Do not close the command prompt Window until the procedure is complete.
  6. After the command has been completed, reboot the system.
